Let’s all send Harold cards!

May 12, 2022

The family of an Ohio grandfather and World War II veteran is seeking cards for his 100th birthday. On June 8th, Harold Myers of Mansfield, Ohio, is going to turn 100-years-old. The WWII veteran and lifelong Ohioan still lives independently with his wife of 72 years, Margaret. He still drives his car and does the grocery shopping, but one thing he doesn’t do is social media. So, when his grandson, Dan Smith, wanted to have people wish his granddad a happy 100th, he had to go old school.

So, the family has set up a post office box for the occasion and is asking the public to send Harold birthday cards to make the day extra special. “Being 100, he doesn’t really get on social media. So, I think it’s a really fun way for him to interact with people,” Smith says. He came up with the idea after seeing his granddad so happy when he received a few cards a couple years ago.

Anyone wanting to send the centenarian a bday card can send it to this address:

Harold Myers
PO Box 310
Ontario, Ohio 44862

Also, the family is trying to keep the surprise a secret, so be sure not to let Harold know.
