HAPPI 927 plays the Most Hit Music for Erie and Warren.
The radio station first signed on Nov. 9, 2012, playing songs with the word “happy.” It then launched a week later as HAPPI 927 on Nov. 16 at noon, playing hit music.
HAPPI’s studios were originally based at 13th and State St. in downtown Erie.
The company which owns local television stations WICU and WSEE bought the station in late 2019. HAPPI then changed its call letters from WEHP to WICU-FM.
The station later expanded to Warren, Pa., in early 2020 when WNAE 1310 AM changed its call letters to WICU-AM and started simulcasting HAPPI 927. Listeners in Warren can also find the station on 96.7 FM.
HAPPI later moved its operations to the building which houses the television stations in Sept. 2021.
